Dear Friends,
“We were really looking forward to celebrating the beautiful Minnesota winter with everyone, but the weather hasn’t cooperated, and we won’t be able to deliver the experience we had hoped for. There are safety concerns we have to take into account when building structures with ice and snow, and ensuring the safety of these structures is our top priority. As the weather warms, it's important for anyone attending events featuring large ice or snow structures to exercise extreme caution. Warmer temperatures can affect the stability of these structures, potentially making them hazardous.
Big thanks to our community and everyone who supports Minnesota Ice – the Super El Niño might have paused our festival this year, but your warmth keeps our spirits high! We're already crafting icy wonders for 2025, so stay tuned for a season full of chill and thrill. Your support means the world to us, and we can't wait to share what's next!”
The ice for the festival has already been delivered to Viking Lakes in Eagan, and is under insulation which will protect it from melting as long as it remains covered. We’re hoping we will be able to use the ice in a celebration with the public at some point later this winter.
Attendees who have already purchased tickets and gift cards for the Minnesota Ice Festival will receive automatic refunds. Anticipate refunds within 7-10 days; however, we kindly request your patience, as processing times may vary among different banking institutions.
We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause festival attendees and appreciate your understanding in these unforeseen circumstances. In the meantime, we encourage attendees to visit Vikings Lakes for Winter SKOLstice, where you can shop the Winter Markets, take a drive through Magic of Lights, and enjoy food and drink at the Warming Haus.
