How did you get started in Ice Sculpting?
A young artist who went to culinary school mainly to learn to sculpt ice.
How many years have you been sculpting ice?
Since 1984
What is your most memorable sculpture? And any short story why it was your most memorable.
Sculpting the nativity scene in Graz, Austria. One year I was a guest artist who did all the figures for the scene. It is a well know attraction for the city during advent. It was quite a honor and I was very proud of the end result.
Have you received any notable awards or recognition in your carving career?
A few notables: I am one of only a handful of certified Grand Master ice carvers. I have multiple International and National Championships and currently the all-time wins leader with over 150 win worldwide.
Most memorable location you've carved at?
In Japan, carving in front of 17th century castle.
Is there a particular type of subject or theme that you like to carve?
I love many themes, styles and subject matter. I really enjoy creating sculptures that tell a story and evoke emotion. One thing I always try to do is create something that has incredible WOW factor.

Winning, winning, and more winning, 51%.

Practice and challenge yourself. Find a master to learn from.
